Eugen B. Fargeorge, our father was born and raised in New Haven, Ct. As a young man he was drafted into the Army and served his country during World War II. He traveled throughout Europe, while serving his country. The two most memorable places he traveled through were England and what was then called Czechoslovakia. While traveling through London, England he went through a part of the city called Knightsbridge that he loved. While traveling through Czechoslovakia he met a beautiful young woman who he fell in love with and vowed he would come back to get her after the war was over. After the war he went back to Czechoslovakia and married his war bride. They both came back to America to live. He went onto Providence college to get a degree is History. He knew he could not support his growing family on a teachers salary so he worked three jobs. One of the jobs was in the warehouse of a HVAC supply house. He learned everything he could about the industry and knew he wanted to start his own business. He did the research and found there were no supply houses on the shoreline. Our parents had twelve children at the time. He sold his life insurance policy and found a building in Branford at 875 West Main Street that had no heat or bathrooms but rented it anyway. He grew his business and then in the 1970's moved it to it's current location. They had three more children for a total of fifteen. He passed away in 1985.
